| Friends and Colleagues Eight months have passed since we lost our home, our possessions, our neighborhood and our beloved community in the Palisades Fire. We have worked through grief, loss, and mourning for the life we once had. And we have found much joy in our new life, as we have been blessed with such beautiful kindness from family, friends and strangers. Friends who took us into their home on a moment’s notice and let us stay for weeks. Friends who brought us new underwear and toothbrushes and power tools. Friends and strangers who helped us source new wardrobes and family who sent us old photos. We have grown…in humility, over how little we truly control…..and in appreciation for the beauty that exists even in the face of great challenge. Fire and devastation. Resilience and renewal. Life! Hope for tomorrow. In the weeks ahead, may you find quiet moments to appreciate the beauty and kindness available to you in your hectic life. May you feel the support of loved ones who are there for you. And may you be there for those who count on you. Make it a beautiful week. |
